Will GTA 6 Be on PC?
Rockstar has not said. The official platform list names PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and Rockstar's GTA VI page gives a single date, November 19, 2026, with no mention of PC.
Take-Two's pre-order announcement from June 24, 2026, also lists only the two consoles. Rockstar has announced no Steam page, no Rockstar Games Launcher listing and no PC storefront date.
What Has Take-Two Said About a PC Version?
Take-Two's CEO has talked about console-first launches without confirming a PC port. In a May 2026 Bloomberg interview, Strauss Zelnick said, "Rockstar always starts on console because I think with regard to a release like that you're judged by serving the core," as reported by GodisaGeek.
GodisaGeek notes that Zelnick did not confirm a PC version in that interview. Earlier, in February 2025, he told IGN, "we don't always go across all platforms simultaneously," and "Historically, Rockstar [Games] has started with some platforms and then historically moved to other platforms," according to TechRadar. Those comments describe Rockstar's habits. Neither one names a PC date.
How Long Did Past Rockstar Games Take to Reach PC?
Rockstar's last two big open-world games reached PC between one and two years after their console launches. That history is a pattern, not a promise about GTA VI.
| Game | Console launch | PC launch | Gap |
|---|---|---|---|
| Grand Theft Auto V | September 17, 2013 (PS3, Xbox 360) | April 14, 2015 | About 19 months |
| Red Dead Redemption 2 | October 26, 2018 (PS4, Xbox One) | November 5, 2019 | About 12 months |
GTA V's PC version also slipped before launch. Rockstar and Take-Two's September 2014 announcement set it for January 27, 2015, and Hexus reported in February 2015 that Rockstar moved it to April 14, 2015. The April date comes from press coverage; we could not open a Rockstar page that states it.
Are There Official GTA 6 PC System Requirements?
No. Rockstar has published no PC system requirements because it has not announced a PC version.
Any spec sheet you find online is a guess. We won't recommend PC hardware for GTA VI until Rockstar publishes real numbers. If you want to play at launch, you need a PS5 or Xbox Series X|S.
How Can You Tell if a PC Announcement Is Real?
Check Rockstar's Newswire and the official GTA VI page first. A real announcement will come from Rockstar or Take-Two and will name PC directly.
Use this checklist when a "GTA 6 PC" headline appears:
- Does the post link to Rockstar or Take-Two, and does that page say "PC"?
- Does it give a date, a store or system requirements from an official listing?
- Is it new, or an old Zelnick quote recycled as fresh news?
- Is a retailer placeholder listing the only source? Placeholders are not confirmation.
