You'll find plenty of GTA 6 map images online, and none of them came from Rockstar as a complete map. Rockstar's site names six regions of Leonida, and that's the solid ground. We built our own fan map around those six regions so you can browse them before launch on November 19, 2026.

Is There an Official GTA 6 Map?
No. Rockstar hasn't released a full GTA 6 map, only region names and short tours on its official site.
Rockstar's GTA VI site has a "Visit Leonida" section with one link per region, introduced as "Tour a few of the must-see destinations across the sunshine state." That gives you names and a feel for each area. It doesn't give you coordinates, borders or a to-scale layout.
Take-Two describes the setting as "the state of Leonida, home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond". GTA Boom's summary of Game Informer's cover story mentions an in-game map that resembles satellite imagery. Rockstar hasn't published that map as an image.
What Are the Six Regions of Leonida?
Rockstar's site links six regions: Vice City, Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga. Vice City is the only one Rockstar presents as a city.
Rockstar sums up Vice City as "The darkest side of the sunniest place in America." We couldn't pull Rockstar's own one-line descriptions for the other five, because those panels load in the browser and didn't show up when we checked. One character bio does point to a place: Rockstar says Jason ended up "in the Keys" working for local drug runners.
| Region | What is officially known | Vice Atlas page |
|---|---|---|
| Vice City | Named by Rockstar; "The darkest side of the sunniest place in America." | /en/regions/vice-city |
| Leonida Keys | Named by Rockstar; Jason's bio places him "in the Keys" | /en/regions/leonida-keys |
| Grassrivers | Named by Rockstar; no official description confirmed | /en/regions/grassrivers |
| Port Gellhorn | Named by Rockstar; no official description confirmed | /en/regions/port-gellhorn |
| Ambrosia | Named by Rockstar; no official description confirmed | /en/regions/ambrosia |
| Mount Kalaga | Named by Rockstar; no official description confirmed | /en/regions/mount-kalaga |
For press descriptions, GamesRadar calls the Keys a tropical archipelago, Grassrivers alligator wetlands and Mount Kalaga a northern national park. Those are GamesRadar's words, not Rockstar's.
How Big Is the GTA 6 Map Compared With GTA 5?
Rockstar hasn't published an official size. The main claim comes secondhand: Forbes reports that Rockstar's Aaron Garbut said the map is "about twice the size of GTA 5," citing Game Informer's cover story.
Forbes lists the exact area as "Not disclosed." Any square-mile number you see, including Forbes' own estimate, is someone's arithmetic. GTA Boom's summary adds that the map is denser, with more interiors. For a fuller side-by-side, see our GTA 6 map vs GTA 5 map guide.
Where Do Leaked GTA 6 Maps Come From?
Leaked and "official-looking" GTA 6 maps are fan reconstructions. Rockstar has confirmed none of them.
Fans piece them together from trailers, screenshots and the 2022 leak, in which Rockstar confirmed early development footage was stolen. In 2023 fans also spotted a faint map in Rockstar's promotional art and compared it with a map built from leaked footage. Even GTA Boom's write-up noted the two didn't fully match. Development builds change, so treat any leak-based map as a guess.
How Does the Vice Atlas Map Work?
Our map is an illustrative region navigator built around Rockstar's six named regions. It doesn't show verified game coordinates.
Open the map, pick a region, read its card and jump to its region page. Don't use placements to judge distances, roads, travel times or borders. A region card doesn't confirm that a landmark sits in a particular spot. Your checklist lives in your browser, not in the game or a Rockstar account, so clearing browser data erases it.
After launch we'll update region pages once we can check them against the game.
